Can you believe we're already halfway through the Live Free Tour?! Time *truly* flies when you're getting out there and embracing all the amazing things our world has to offer. We hope these adventures are inspiring you and your crew to live free and set out on unforgettable experiences of your own.
In what might be our most adventurous tour stop yet, Team PV traveled all the way to Juneau, Alaska, fully decked out in our favorite pieces from the Fall Mystics Collection! 🗺️ Our ventures took us by air, water, and ice through the untamed landscapes of Juneau with a jam-packed itinerary; including glacier helicopter views, bioluminescent coves, epic wildlife and alllllll the delicious Alaskan eats.
We're here to break down every detail of our trip through Alaska's capital and recap the first-hand experiences of our wonderful guests. This trip, we're joined by three incredibly talented PNW-based creators: Eva Seelye (@evangelea), Mary McCoughey (@hikingwithmary), and Lauren Davis (@foxandpines). Be sure to check out their pages for the stunning content they captured while in Juneau! 📸
Okay, let's get into it: our itinerary kicks off with sky-high views of the city from 1800 feet above sea level on the Goldbelt Tram. 🚋 If you're feeling particularly adventurous when planning your trip, you can take a hike through the trails that sit atop the tram for even more stellar, sweeping views.
We then had our first wildlife encounter of the trip during a Whale Watching Tour at the Channel Islands Lighthouse where we learned all about Humpbacks in Alaska. 🐋 After working up an appetite, we treated ourselves to fresh caught Alaska King Crab at Tracy's King Crab Shack. If this stop makes your list, we recommend sitting outside, taking in the views, and enjoying their award-winning crab cakes and bisques. 🦀
The views did not stop there: we took to the skies and seas with Taku Glacier Helicopter and Airboat tours for the most breathtaking vistas of Juneau. 🚁 Here, we had the opportunity to get up close and personal to the Taku Glacier, the deepest and thickest alpine temperate glacier known in the world! The driver shocked us all with how seamlessly we glided over shallow grass and large chunks of ice while getting right next to the edge of berg. Did we mention we also got to sip ice directly from a glacier pool atop the Taku glacier? Bucket list item, checked. ✅
Later, we hiked to Nugget Falls while exploring the stunning waterfalls, lakes, and views surrounding the Mendenhall Glacier. ❄️ Not only does Juneau have incredible natural wonders, but they have amazing shopping and dining, as well! We took some time to visit the unique shops and restaurants in the downtown area to get our fill of homemade fudge and snag matching tees and sweatshirts. Not that we needed them: we kept unintentionally matching the entire trip making for the cutest group ever. Locals in town even stopped us on the first day of the trip and dubbed us 'Charlies Angels,' a nickname we'll definitely be using from here on out. 😇🥰
We couldn't leave Downtown Juneau without stopping in to Deckhand Dave's for their iconic fish tacos that some dubbed the best they've ever had. A true 'can't miss' while making your way through AK. 🐟 Oh, and the specialty French Toast and Crab Cake Eggs Benedict are a must at the Sandpiper Cafe if you're looking for a breakfast spot, too. 🥞😋
Our time in Juneau was the definition of a once-in-a-lifetime trip. We're so thankful for our guests and the people of Alaska for making this adventure everything that it was.
